The original nest box webcam was installed in 2002. Photos from this can be seen in the 2002 Diary. In 2003 and 2004 the nest box was not occupied.
This year, I have installed 2 nest boxes. One uses a colour camera, the other uses a black and white camera with infrared lighting. The colour webcam and nest box was purchased complete from www.thebirdcam.co.uk , the black/white camera was purchased from www.henrys.co.uk A Great Tit was roosting in the black/white cam nest box until the beginning of April. The colour webcam nest box faces east and is fixed to the garage wall, the other box faces north at the bottom of the garage.
Webcam Details
The inside of the nest box containing the colour camera is fitted with two diodes to provide light during the day.The black and white camera has 6 infrared bulbs which enable viewing at any time day or night. The images are 'grabbed' from the camera using a Hauppauge USB WinTV device using i-Catcher Wildlife software. i-Catcher
